The edge gateway owns transport, authentication and the frozen contract: keys resolve there, the shop a key may act for is derived server-side, and structural validation happens before anything reaches the core. The core owns business truth — pricing, inventory, loyalty ledgers, order state. Nothing integrity-critical is ever decided on a client: prices you send are ignored, shop claims you send are ignored, totals come back server-resolved.

separated — a key works only in its own environment (API_KEY_ENV_MISMATCH). The production
